He also started to blame the Nazis for the death of his son Thomas (Quinn Lord), who was so loyal to the party that he volunteered to be euthanized after discovering he had a degenerative disease. "The Man in the High Castle" Season 3 saw the Nazis blow up the Statue of Liberty. Season 3 started to imply that Smith himself could join the resistance in the final season after he witnessed the Nazis blowing up the Statue of Liberty as part of their mission to erase all pre-Nazi American history. Through Hawthorne, John Smith learns that only humans who do not already exist or are dead in the parallel reality they want to cross over into can successfully make the trip. She manages to get pretty close to the machine before getting captured and sent to the same prison that Hawthorne Abendsen/The Man in the High Castle (Stephen Root) himself is in after he was captured earlier in the season. ![]() Juliana also started to hatch a plan to destroy the machine by smuggling herself into the GNR. However, he himself was killed by Juliana, who slashed his throat and returned the files to Tagomi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). This came after he was arrested at the end of Season 2 and forced into a re-education program that ended with him having to kill his father.
